New Mix

This is a mix I made using a really shitty DJ program on my computer that doesn't even allow me to preview the songs before I mix them in! :-D

It came out surprisingly well...pure luck really...have fun with it if you want:

DJ Sprinkles

Here is a really well produced and lovely album from

"Dj Sprinkles aka Terre Thaemlitz is an award winning multi-media producer, writer, public speaker, educator, audio remixer, DJ and owner of the Comatonse Recordings record label. His work critically combines themes of identity politics - including gender, sexuality, class, linguistics, ethnicity and race - with an ongoing critique of the socio-economics of commercial media production. This diversity of themes is matched by Thaemlitz’ wide range of production styles, which include electroacoustic computer music, club oriented deep house, digital jazz, ambient, and computer composed neo-expressionist piano solos."

Here are three smooth tracks from deep-house guru Fred P. The tracks included in this zip are:

On This Vibe (my favorite)

I also got Fred P's stellar EP "New Horizon" for you. He also goes by Black Jazz Consortium. Stay Magic and download this.

From Resident Advisor:

Fred P's preferred style of house sounds like it was stuck under a heat lamp, left to decay for a few months and then rediscovered and sent straight to the mastering plant. And like his spiritual lo-fi brothers in the indie rock world, it's music that feels somehow much more present, even as it threatens to drift away into the ether.

Also remember to check out Natalie Rodgers...my favorite internet person who I shamelessly steal from...she collects the best images and videos and makes the best images and videos:

Some Hip Hop Shit

Back when I only listened to rap this was my favorite album. It's still great. Check it out.

Nothing On This Blog Is Immune To Change

I'm officially back. I was in Berlin this past semester. I will now post the music that I am listening to at the moment. Just like I was doing before. Let's Go.

This album is currently on heavy, heavy, heavy rotation on my new Marshall headphones (which are really nice if you are looking for good mid-range headphones.) Immune is very open, nice and lush, but still SuPeR pumping. It's funky without being silly. It has some really great sounds on it, and I like every song. My favorite tracks are:

01. Meaning and Memory 02. Hyperlight 03. I’ll Hold Your Hand 04. What Did You Say 05. Imitation Lover 06. Arigato 07. Subspace Radio 08. Spacial Harmonics 09. Immune

Oops, that is the tracklist. Here is the album. I'm going to buy it myself.

Immune

Also, I've collected seven tracks from Bodycode/Portable that are not on this album...some were tough to find so if you like this record I suggest picking up these other tracks...

The Mixes You Missed

I'm sort of proud of these mixes. Make sure you have grabbed them all if you like them. Here are the seven ones I've made so far.

Minimix 3

Minimix 4

Minimix 5

Minimix 6

Minimix 7

They are all pretty good if you ask me. If you only want to download one, I would suggest the most recent. Thanks for listening, and remember to stay magic.

Wow!

The Dream & Santiago

Part 1: "I was simply scared and embarrassed to let everyone know we WERE FAILING and HAVE NOW FAILED."

Part 2: "This is not justify anything, it's true emotion! It's a real thing that involves real people!"

Part 3: "I've cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I was considering taking my own life at a point."

This is a series of three illustrations I did using charcoal, it is called "The Dream and Santiago." The subject was The Dream and his secretary Melissa Santiago. They had an affair. Dream apologized. I drew the pictures of them that someone snapped and sold to the tabloids. They were having fun in the water. Under the illustrations I included sections of an apology letter The Dream wrote after the photos had surfaced. Here is The Dream's new album, Love King.

Very Nice Music From Africa

This is some great stuff. I really love playing it when I am relaxing in my bed. I hope you like it too. I also hope you are all remembering to Stay Magic.
